R.A.D. Stainforth digs in...the poppies are a timely touch...
Find me, considering
specks of dust in the sunlight,
dug in, making daisy chains
dug in, making daisy chains
with innocent passersby,
placing thought-bombs
in the minefield of my notebook.
After a long, sexy pause,
wave a red flag to my white one,
point your digital turret-tufts,
set your sights radiant,
take me hostage,
ramble me with
a midnight mushroom.

ReplyDeleteWow ... this is exciting !!!
ReplyDelete"take me hostage, ramble me" is the ultimate surrender........!
ReplyDeleteThought bombs ... if only.

Tantalizing...
ReplyDeleteInteresting, thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat, powerful words.
ReplyDeleteCompletely different to what I was expecting but, brilliant!
ReplyDeletepowerful and provoking- especially like the words "thought-bombs
ReplyDeletein the minefield of my notebook" whew!
Midnight mushrooms from the summer kitchen. My thought bombs are exploding considering the side dishes.
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful, Tess.
ReplyDelete'with innocent passersby,
ReplyDeleteplacing thought-bombs
in the minefield of my notebook'.
Brilliant, but I suspect, not so innocent!
"Thought bombs" No less powerful or destructive than sharapnel or mushroom clouds.

This is so unexpected and full of modern day personal wars. Made me think and blink as a different take unfolds after a second and third reading, Tess!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you found layers here, ninotaziz...
DeleteI like the image of thought bombs...and the mental battlefield
ReplyDeleteWander
Romance with martial overtones. Nice!
ReplyDeleteI love all the different layers of this!
ReplyDeleteShrooms would be an interesting prison through which to view a battlefield, i rhink it was tried in Vietnam. Alternatively, the last time a shroom was seen in a war, it was very bad , but i thought your words are an interrsting omelette!
ReplyDeleteset your sights radiant,
ReplyDeletetake me hostage,
ramble me with!
This is sensuously beautiful. It's a yearning and an invitation blended into one. Nicely Tess!
Hank
you are roaring with your recent poems.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suki...rrraar...
DeleteHow magical the midnight mushroom!
ReplyDeleteTempted to join you..interesting path, full of feeling!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sensual longing.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Wish I could find some midnight mushrooms.....!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it's sex or cooking but I like it!
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm about to say is not fluff and flattery. Having read Patina and traveled a bit through your blog I would not be the least surprised some day to hear you have been appointed our Poet Laureate.
ReplyDeleteReBelle, the highest compliment ever...thank you...so glad you enjoyed Patina...
DeleteBrilliantly sketched in: a flick of the pen from daisy chains to thought bombs and mine fields. Strokes full of life catching at the thought of death. Me like!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly.
DeleteAnd mine.
DeleteWell done Tess.
Anna :o]
Ah. Make love, not war. Or actually, both?
ReplyDeleteLoved this delightful, sexy poem...especially "ramble me."
=)
Lovely--I like the invitation, "ramble with me" and the idea of "thought bombs in the minefield of my notebook"
ReplyDelete'Wow!
ReplyDeleteplacing thought-bombs
in the minefield of my notebook.
Brilliant - no other word for the above but brilliant!
