A Fun Meme

Ophelia, Odilon Redon

My uncle once: shot off his finger with a blunder bust.
Arrrg, Matey!

Never in my life: have I ice skated and am too afraid to
start now.

When I was five: I memorized a Halloween poem and
recited it for show and tell. My teacher told me to sit down,
it wasn't a talent show. I still adore poetry, but am petrified
of audiences.

High school was: an experience I'm glad I never have to
revisit.

I will never forget: watching my Grandpa process photos
in his darkroom. The smell of developing solution brings back
many fond memories. I always breathe deeply when I walk into
a photo shop.

Once I met: Georgio Tozzi, opera singer, who did the actual
singing dubbed for Rossano Brazzi in the movie South Pacific.
He was so charming, very handsome and wore suspenders and
a bow tie.

There’s this girl I know: who sings “How are Things in
Glocca Morra” at holidays and makes me cry.

Once at a bar: my aunt drank a barrel sized glass of
Baileys and put the fake grass from a flower arrangement
in the restroom into her purse.

By noon, I’m usually: standing, staring into the fridge.

Last night: I watched I Know Where I'm Going and cried.

If I only had: hair like Pocahontas.

Next time I go to church: I want it to be one of those
lovely cathedrals in England with a boys choir and grand
organ music.

What worries me most: is insignificance.

You’ll know I’m lying when: I tell you that I just
finished running the Boston marathon.

What I miss most about the 80’s is: white hose
and shoulder pads.

If I were a character in Shakespeare, I’d be:
Ophelia in Hamlet.

A better name for me would be: Mrs. Dalloway.

I have a hard time understanding: and editing
html language.

If I ever go back to school: I would be out of my mind.

You know I like you if: I see your caller ID and still
pick up.

Take my advice, never: EVER color your hair or
anyone else's at home during a tornado.

My ideal breakfast is: poached eggs, bacon, and
extra strong coffee with cream in front of the fire with WT
on a frosty winter Sunday morning.

If you visit my hometown, I suggest you: bring
some old clothes to go fishing in the river.

Why won’t people: just treat others as kindly as they
would like to be treated?

The world could do without: narrow minded bigots.

I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than:
skydive.

My favorite blonds are: my daughter, my aunt, two
uncles and Kenneth Branagh

If I do anything well, it’s: cook for a crowd.

And, by the way: I hate ugly places.

Feel free to have some fun and post it for yourself!!

I almost stopped reading there, but then realised that I just had a handful memes left. Had it been further up the post, I don't think I would have carried on :-).

    Fun meme for sure.

    Greetings from London.

  9. Good thing about the blog is that you can have as much poetry as you like and keep it beautiful around you.

  10. Willow,
I've always seen myself as Hamlet. Perhaps because I played him in H.S.
My favorite church is in Auch, France.
Boston marathon? I will if you will.
And, if I ever visit Willow Manor, I'll use worms, not old clothes to fish with. ;-)

  17. A pox upon your kindergarten teacher! Clearly she had no eye for talent. Probably she was jealous of your poetic skills. (: )

  18. Oh dear, I'm struggling to keep up with the memes I've joined when I'd rather be enjoying old friends posts. I'm running myself ragged. At least I enjoyed myself just now. Will come back to savour Johnny Depp.

  20. Reading this was fun, Willow.
I would rather skydive than lick the belly of a cockroach!
And you are really missing out by not trying ice skating. It is exhilarating!

As for high school...I hated it with every fibre of my being.

  22. I've always fancied Baileys in pints.
I hate cooking for crowds, always get anxious. Perhaps I should do it under the influence of the Baileys?
You did a very good meme.

  23. What a fun meme! I enjoyed your answers very much.

And now I have to Redon paintings to admire. I should look at his work more often. These images are beautiful.

Will you tell us more about the hair color and the tornado? I'm trying to imagine the circumstances but I'm sure the real story is better!

  24. Okay, everyone wants to know! I have a post all ready to go, but I will post on the hair color tornado story tomorrow. :P

  25. I think you should give ice skating a try, I am sure you would get the hang of it in no time. I agree about the sky diving, too far to fall.

  26. I am soooooooo with you on Kenneth Branagh...ahhh, men in tights!

The year of the flood was 1993, I had 18 inches of seep-water in my yard all summer, all plants and trees died, had more fish in my yard than in my pond. We were just lucky the levee held, I lived a half mile away from the river, as the crow flies...my house would've been gone. Had baby chicks, peacocks and pheasants and no yard for them to walk on. We had to get grass clippings and straw for the bird yards...don't ever want to go through that again!!!

  33. I don't think you need to concern yourself with insignificance. You are quite significant to many of us. That's why we keep coming back.

I'm with you on the caller i.d. add answer the doorbell and you've summed me up.

How true. now, I need caller ID too. Presently I pick up for far too many people.

I love posts like these and getting to now the blogger better, in this case you. Wonderful.
