Rain

R.A.D. Stainforth contemplates a walk in the rain

It's the way droplets
pause on your face,

how your neck looks,
tempest with a seaweed
of rain-soaked hair;

because your clothes,
drenched against innocent form,
beg to be peeled away.

Walk with me today
embrace global warming,
get crazy Waterworld-wet,

lap waves of kisses,
let them flood between;
drink resplendent,

play dead, drown,
float, until we
are no longer thirsty.

    We both used the word tempest. :)

    My son's school (quite a few years ago) actually put on the play using my friend's indoor swimming pool ...

  20. Now that I'm not cowering under a table trying to hold my hair on, I can really appreciate a poem about rain. Last night, not so much. 8-)

  26. Well-crafted eroticism is admirable. This poem sets its sensuality within the context of love, which deepens and substantiates. A fine piece.
