Way back to the pixie cut bangs and sundress. My mother kept my hair cut very short. It was stylish then, I suppose, but I dearly craved a pony tail. So much, I clipped a sock on the back of my head, just to see what it felt like when I skipped around. Maybe that's why I enjoy doing stuff with my hair now. Chopsticks. Clips. Pencils. I still skip, when no one's watching.
I love it! You are adorable. My mother did the same thing to me. Pixie cuts were the thing.
ReplyDeleteCute kid - still.
ReplyDeleteI, too, always had a pixie and craved a swinging ponytail. I don't know how long it took for me to not be called a little boy -- by fourth grade, I had two braids.
ReplyDeleteI shall be trying the sock trick later today.
ReplyDeleteMy mom, my sister, and I all had hair down past our butts for the entirety of my childhood. My dad came in a close second with his shoulder-length hair and beard. Of course I dreamed of a bob... I used to roll all my hair under and pin it, and stand looking at the back of my head in a mirror using a compact mirror. Funny how we always want what we don't have.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know that it was called a pixie cut but of course I had one too. The polka dots were in fashion as well!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried skipping...don't want to wind up in the ER...but I do rather enjoy flipping my ponytail. You really were, really are, adorable.
ReplyDeleteYou should be skipping and dancing as though no one is watching!
