Whether

Musician in the Rain, Robert Doisneau
Our ritual forecast:
clouds in northern parts

discussed a dozen charming ways.
I tell you nonchalantly

how windows rattle,
twister of the decade roars in my chair.

You do not realize Fahrenheit;
move knee-deep in symphony,

arrange the tempest of my own making,
envelop me in temperate.

No matter how hard we try
we cannot ignore stray raindrops.

I look at you with frankness;
ask whether or not it is now.

tk/January 2014

R.A.D. Stainforth delivers the forecast beautifully...

  2. I love the clever homonym of the title, and the interplay of the "weather" between these two.

  5. "No matter how hard we try
    we cannot ignore stray raindrops." will be (or should be) a quote Tess! I hope you don't mind me sharing it on G+ today (giving you credit of course.)

    Another fun write and prompt thanks so much I so look forward to the word play on Sunday mornings.

  6. Indeed, we cannot ever turn our backs on raindrops. They are as telling as the depth of tenderness, between your lines, whether we weather our days well or not.

  7. It definitely is now! Excellent Tess!

  8. Vagaries of the weather most unpredictable. Gets pretty frustrating at times. Nicely Tess!

  13. All excellent, but this is my favorite:

    "arrange the tempest of my own making,
    envelop me in temperate."

    You are such an artist with your words.

  19. Ahhh...to be enveloped in temperate. Both parties, here, are equally moody and volatile. Gets interesting, sometimes: sure nuff does.
