Then something happened. I started writing poetry. Gradually, the time I spent writing blog posts, shifted to time spent writing poetry. Then something else happened. Facebook. I took to Facebook like a duck to water, or shall I say, swan to water. It's quick and easy to post a random thought, or current Willow Manor event, like the discovery of a dead moth, or spot of the floor that looks amazingly like Boris Pasternak. A conversation thread can be started at the drop of a hat, or feather, twenty-four-seven. Squawk! Do swans squawk? I think so, yes.
To make a long story short, my way of life has become one of poetry. So, I still consider Life at Willow Manor a lifestyle blog. Even though I rarely visit blogs these days, except for Magpie Tales, I want to thank my faithful readers. Those of you not on Facebook, I promise to make an effort to post occasional recipes, movie reviews, and so on, so stay tuned. You are the best, dear peeps. You really, really are.

I love your blog--your writing is supreme.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Beth...
DeleteI always enjoyed your posts and refuse to do Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, et al. Your blog is the only way I get to hear from you, so yay. I will stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna...please do...
DeleteI love your blog too, but only recently have spent some time of facebook. It's fun. So if you dont blog much, I will see you there even if I don't post a note on how I am here in the north.
ReplyDeleteThanks dear Suki...Facebook is fun...that's where I get my social fix these days...enjoy seeing you there...
DeleteJust discovered your blog tonight. Great writing!!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Optimistic...nice to meet you...
DeleteFor Lent I have given up the random and frequent FB Status message. I see it as an Ethernet vow of silence. It has been a real awakening because status messages are to easy to just do without much thought. But is it communication?
ReplyDeleteI so miss the pop of a thought into the little box that I have been blogging much more. And I find my blogs require more thought, more consideration, more insight. I am not sure when Lent is over I will go back to the constant status messaging or not.
Several friends have given up social interaction on Facebook for Lent, which quite befuzzles me, since I consider connecting with others a most positive and essential thing...
DeleteMy god - you're even more of an ego-maniac than I am!
ReplyDelete!
Delete...when one gets into poetry everything becomes poetic... from simply sharing a recipe...to finding a dead moth... ah, i say..everything... smiles... i enjoyed what you do Tess... keep 'em coming...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kelvin...I will...
DeleteGod, don't let this woman discover Twitter!
ReplyDeleteha ha
DeleteI forget to tweet...
DeleteYou are a great poet, dear Tess. I am blessed to share multiple spaces with you, but I will always have a very soft, woolly-warm spot in my heart for Willow Manor. I came here out of curiosity and need, and I found a kindred spirit and life-long friend. I have loved watching the swan spread her wings and fly. She is beautiful beyond words.
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet friend...
DeleteI read every poem; usually at least twice. Rarely, however, do I leave comments because I don't feel particularly qualified. But, if you posted paintings!!!
ReplyDeleteCro I'll see what I can do...it means a lot to me that you read my poems...thank you...
DeleteFacbook is an addiction ...a gross one...I used to be one badly addicted to it and still i am but Blogger helped me a lot in loosening the grip of it somehow...Basically I am enjoying this freedom and whiff of fresh air here....Juxtaposed :)
ReplyDeleteFacebook can be a very positive networking tool. I was surprised that in a letter from my editor, the number one suggestion was to have a visible and active profile on Facebook.
DeleteSaw a book in a shop window in Liverpool: "Learn yourself Scouse". I doubt if there is a book called "Learn yourself Scouse Poetry" but it would be fun if there were!
ReplyDeleteYou've found your niche in poetry and it's great.
I adore "Learn Yourself Scouse"...scribbling it in my notebook...thank you Philip...
DeleteTess visiting your blog is always a treat and a pleasure....i love the wonderful ideas to blog about you come up with and your poetry is true and unique....i am thankful to have found you and magpie tales....(It has motivated me to write so much more than I would have over the last couple of years....thank you Tess!)
ReplyDeletegreat blog Tess!
ReplyDeleteGreeting from italy
Facebook happened to me, too, but I miss blogging. I'm glad to hear you have found more time for poetry even with both blogging and Facebook. That's where I'm headed. See you there, maybe.
