Big News

unpressed/ʌnˈprɛst/
adjective
  • 1. not squeezed or obtained by pressure
  • 2. unironed

There's some fun news at Willow Manor! Finishing Line Press has agreed to publish my second 26-page chapbook!  This collection of love poems is titled Unpressed, and will be available to purchase later this year. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the details.

The funny thing is, not too long ago, I didn't even know what a chapbook was.  I timidly posted my very first poem here at Willow Manor in July 2008, and not only were no rotten vegetables tossed my direction, you actually encouraged me to write more. Thank you, dear, dear readers for your most kind, faithful encouragement and support. This wouldn't be possible without you, my friends. You are the best. I know, I always say it, but you really are.

  11. You are extremely talented. It is hard to believe that you only started blogging in 2008, not that long before me. It has been very clear to me since I found your blog (at the second Willow Ball, I think)that you are special in many ways, not only as a poet. I am proud of your success and sure there will be much more.

  30. did you mean to say chap book or chap stick?
cause I used that for the first time in 2008 or 1988
and I’m ready for a new one too

but no one ever offered to buy me a second one
and so you should be pleased as punch
    and I have to say
    I'm just plum honored
to know a two chap stick poet
and you can be sure if you have a spare
    I’m buying one
    and one for my cousin
    and my neighbor
    and his cousin
I hope there’s no limit on the number you can buy…

  31. I'll wait to own chapbook number 2 as well. And wait for the hardcover of all someday too!
