turkey + pesto = yum

This is a wonderful alternative for the tried and true beef hamburger. They are juicy and full of flavor. You might be tempted to say you like them even better than beef.  Give them a whirl and let me know what you think.

Turkey Pesto Burgers

2 1/2 pounds of lean (93/7) ground turkey
1 cup pesto
1 cup soft bread crumbs
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs
freshly ground pepper to taste

makes 8 generous sized patties

You can also toss in a handful of feta, if you like.

I melted a slice of smoked Gouda on mine....MMM-mmm.

  21. This recipe will be Anna's birthday present--and my present will be the finished product.

Both birthdays this week (but I'll be the one eating across the fence, ALONE, in the neighbor's back yard--grin!)

How do you make photos like that? Photo-Factory? I meant Photoshop?

    PEACE, Luv!

  28. And I bet, for those of us on the no-carb bandwagon, that two big portobello mushrooms could substitute for the bun! 8-)

  29. Oh, wow. Looks incredible and I am going to try. Went to a friend's house last weekend and she served ground beef burgers mixed with freshly chopped basil and crumbled Gorgonzola cheese. I could not believe the flavor.

  32. Tess - is the Canon PowerShoot your camera of choice. I have that same camera, as well and a bigger fancy schmancy one, but I find the PowerShoot to be much more user friendly and easier to lug around.
