overheard at the manor...

Happy Anniversary, Honey. ((kiss))

I have a piece of artwork for you.

You do??

Yes, a very rare one. It's worth a fortune.

Aw, Hon! How sweet! You shouldn't have.
A Munch! How appropriate for 33 years with you!
 ((more kisses))
The Scream, Edvard Munch, 1893

(Number 33 is amethyst, but he knows I'm not a traditional kinda girl.
I go for the big stones.)

  4. That's spooky; I presume it's natural! Congratulations.

  5. Cro, yes, crazy, huh? It's a completely natural water shaped stone from the Scioto River, complete with a mossy mouth!

  6. It's a cuter version than the Munch though...a happier, more contented scream. :)

Very cool gift (a lot of people have amethysts). Happiest of anniversaries to you...

  7. Dina, I thought so, too. He's a cuter, gentler, friendlier "Scream"!

  15. Happy anniversary, willow (raises virtual glass).

Mags chose a bracelet for her birthday a couple of weeks ago and the jeweller asked how long we'd been married. He wobbled, visibly, when we told him, way past thirty years. After clearing his throat he muttered, "that's quite an achievement." Yep, it is. So hearty congratulations to you and yours!

  16. Happy anniversary! Are you naming the rock Edvard?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bug, yes! Edvard's a perfect name for him! I think I'll call him "Eddy" for short. ;^)

  18. Happy Day! Oh the memories of that day...and weeks prior! Love to you both! :)

  19. Thirty three years seems like a pretty long time. Would you say you about to get it right? Or does it seem like only yesterday. The experience of time is a funny thing. May this be your best year yet!

  20. Happy Anniversary to you two! The Captain and I will be celebrating 32 yrs in October; your wedding would have been right after we became engaged :-)
Eddy is stunning. What a wonderful find and truly a thoughtful gift! Isn't it fantastic when you know someone "gets" you?

  27. Not everyone would have seen "the kiss" in that rock. How lucky you are that he has been awakened to what is really there. You are one lucky girl, Tess! (May I call you Tess?) You are just right behind us. We will be celebrating 37 in December. Happy Anniiversary.

  32. Happy Anniversary to you both. How big's the life-imitating-art Munch sculpture?

  33. When you said a 'Munch', I thought that was another euphemism for the 'plumbing' post.

a Munch for an anniversary prezzie? Okayyyyyy then! LOL.

    Mouth open and screaming
In her eyes there’s a gleaming
For her guy is a pet
    The two, a matched set

  52. Happy Anniversary Willow! Enjoy your Munch masterpiece.

  53. The nasty modern Greeks have a saying - 'he should be given a rock,a rope, and a bar of soap' Edvard the stone's cake-hole made me think of this. Sorry you two, but how can a poor villager follow all this creative affection. Well done anyway, and be happy - we need you.

ps. My Greek friends would not explain the saying, but for sure it does not have a friendly meaning.

So ignore it ok? If I had long arms i would hug you both......

    ReplyDelete
  54. Congrats to you both! Then again if it was a Munch....heh, heh...

    ReplyDelete
  55. Happy anniversary, Willow!

The rock is a scream! ;-)

  56. Happy Anniversary!
I would much prefer that amazing stone. My daughter brings me stones from her travels. I don't want any more little trinkets and she usually has no budget so it works out.

    ReplyDelete
  57. FireLight, we got the biggest kick from "Willow Tamer"!!! You got that one right!! From now on, Willow Tamer it is. (actually WT evolved two years ago when I started blogging, from "World Traveler")

  67. A belated Happy Anniversary to you dear Willow & your Darling. You are lucky that he remembers. MOTH always forgets ours, but this year he did & I was the lucky recipient of a new chain saw. He reckons he's going to hand-over the wood chopping responsibilities to moi. I don't think so.
