raindrops were fallin' on my head

We had thunder and a lot of this today. I was out and about and
snapped this pic of raindrops on my windshield. It cleared off just in
time to use the patio grill for dinner. I made some fabulous cumin
marinated steak kabobs and will share the recipe later on this week,
so stay tuned, dear bloggy friends...

  1. hi willow, we had a fantastic thunder storm this afternoon. it started as a gentle rain so i went out in the garden because really folks, is there anything nicer than walking barefoot in the summer during a warm rain?!! then it developed into a whomper of a storm with bangs and rattles and blowing wind and torrential rain, so i stood by the open window and felt the gusty blowy misty stuff until i realized it was soaking the floors. uh oh!! i'm looking forward to the recipe willow. cumin is a staple in my cooking!!! have a lovely evening. steven

  2. We had a huge thunderstorm here, too, with thunder and lightning that sounded as if it was directly overhead. But, unfortuntely, no cumin steak kabobs in my future.

Um, I'm always available as a dinner guest! :->

  3. Lots of big booms here, as well, Steven. Must have been the same front that moved through my neck of the woods earlier!

  9. Willow, nice shot of the windscreen rain drops and glad the storm moved on. We finally got out and about; that's all I could smell were the BBQ's going...everwhere, it seemed!

  10. Rain is always welcome in the summer. It wouldn't deter me from using my outdoor grill either. Looking forward to the recipe!

  12. Rain? Oh for the sound of rain. I won't see rain until maybe October, if we're lucky. It's dry here. Very dry. Not quite leaf curling dry, but I believe once fire season starts (which is pretty much year round now) there will be some doozies. Enjoy the rain. The sounds. The smells.

  14. Hi Willow

This reminds me of that song:

    you say tom a to
and I say tom ar to

    we say kebab...you say kabob...

I am assuming they are cubes of meat on a skewer...

There is a lovely storm happening over at Margaret's Panpipes...can you hear the pitter patter...rumble...

    Happy days

  15. We had rain too - & some thunderstorms as well. It felt so nice after it had moved through...

  16. Your rain storm looks absolutely juicy. Here in upper northern California, we are in the middle of a hot streak. 108-110 degrees for weeks now. I can almost smell the rain on your earth from the pic.

  18. Cool photo! No rain here today, although some nearby towns had some storms. I love the sound of the rain and the thunder, unless it gets too violent! Hope you enjoyed those kabobs! ~Lori

  27. I adore the rain so much! It is raining heavily in Sydney at the moment. I am even going to have an early night so I can lie and listen to it. My daughter and I love nothing better than to watch the rain fall together cuddling. The other day she used the expression 'as beautiful as a long rainy week' She has my love of rain genetically embedded! xx

  29. No rain yesterday on this side of the pond. In fact, a large yellow orb in the sky and blue skies...most unusual...smiling. I took a drive over to my home town of Southport and enjoyed a stroll along the beach and indulged in some cafe society.
I hope you enjoyed the kebobs - they sound delish.

  31. Hello Willow,

Rather like Delwyn, I say kebabs but as an arabic word, where vowel sounds can vary, I suppose we'll let you off!

Even though you don't need it, there is an award waiting for you at my place.

  32. Oh all you rain braggarts. Our two little showers last weekend aside, it is still parched here. Can't water enough, can't afford the water. We're approaching sink or swim in my yard, endure or perish.

  33. I'll be back for the recipe. Cumin is one of my favorite spices.

  34. Terrific photo!

There's a big green line of rain on the radar -- coming our way. Keeping my fingers crossed and encouraging it by watering outside anyway.

  35. I saw on the news today that here in CT, this is the 4th rainiest July on record, and after today's storms, will bump up to the 3rd. If this keeps up, we'll break all records this week.

  36. LOVE the photo!!! so ethereally beautiful! and while i am a true died-in-the-wool SUN sign person, i do love the rain especially on a summer afternoon - our rain storm came late last night but it did brighten the grass and spiffy up the plants a bit - however, like catalyst, no kabobs here!!! i know yours were way more than delish! have a great day! oh, and i'm still waiting on my little family entourage from louisiana to arrive - car problems starting the trip - and just a long trip - can't wait to see my newest little great grandbaby! later - jenean

  37. Willow, Rain is a favorite weather occurrence of mine...if it's accompanied by lightening and thunder then the air smells so wonderfully fresh. I've always thought of rainstorms as Mother Nature washing down her home. The color changes in our grasses, trees and flowers always amazes me. Like viewing the world through fogged over glasses and then having someone wipe them clean for you.

Your recipe sounds wonderful and Cumin is such a healthy spice. I really enjoy your blog.

  41. Very nifty photo!

We are waiting for thunder boomers now, but I don't think we'll get them... they are all headed for New York City; they must like the nightlife.
