Random Album

While I'm working on the Purgapalooza, here's a bit of fun. This little
meme is from Coffee Messiah. It's random, fun, easy and entertaining.
(Hey, I am SO easily entertained.)

1. BAND NAME: Go to "wikipedia." Hit "random article" or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2. ALBUM TITLE: Go to "Random quotations"or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the
title of your first album.

3. COVER ART: Go to flickr and click on "explore the last seven
days"or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

So, there you have it, my bloggy friends. Go ahead! Give it a whirl
and see what you come up with. It's fun!

  9. This is a fun meme. I love the way it magically captures everyone who tries it. Very cool.

I thought it was just my hair that always looks good when I'm just going to be sitting around the house!

I saw Scarlet O'Hara mentioned on a number of blogs during the last couple of days. Interesting, yes? Or should I say, oui>??

  14. Oh, my son did this--I think you could come up with some fabulous album names this way! Great! I agree--it's always so good to clean our closets and drawers. Very liberating. Enjoy!

  15. Thanks to you I'm now the percussionist in a French light jazz band, Gallières. Watch iTunes for our first album "You to Do Your Best". Think Gitanes and a poodle on my lap in a cafe.

  18. This was a lot of fun; especially since I am now the founding member of Atlantic City Hi-Rollers. Our debut album is entitled "People Who Work Standing Up." This is what our album cover will look like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ornellas/3309037596/

This was fun and I will definitely be sharing.

  20. This was fun and love your album cover.

I'm tinkling the ivories in the band "Tauere" and the album title, appropriately, is "It's already tomorrow in Australia". The cover art was a little piece of decoupage.

  24. Hello Willow,

I read about this meme on 'A Woman of No Importance's blog and thought it was good fun. Since I did one of Fhina's other memes yesterday, I haven't got round to this yet. But I will!

Thanks for your kind words you left to my needs!

  27. THis was a lot of fun.
My album cover came out as a macro photo of 2 dark chocolate bonbons (my favorite!!!).
The title "I Think She Enjoyed It" (how apropos!).
And the band name...now that was a mouthfull

    "Hamdollah Mostowfi".

  28. good one....definitely one of more entertaining meme

  29. Groovy, man! I will be headlining for Grimwood’s Longclaw
debuting with "Stage of Opportunity and Strength" and, trust me, you don't want to see the Cover Art. Depending if I choose the third picture across or the third picture down, will make or break my stardom.

The third picture "across" is a rather disturbing Mephistophelean image of a young, handsome man, zombie-like eyes, naked torso, and he is holding his right hand up. The tips of his fingers are charred black and spirals of smoke are swirling from them.

The third picture "down" is a serene photo of a beach with a slightly tilted wooden fence in the foreground.

CD sales will probably be stronger with Satan's spawn! :-)

  30. A proper designer couldn't have come up with a more appealing cover! My husband is reading a book on randomness . . . I must graze through it and get back to you. :)

I bet your hair looks lovely

  32. That's insane, as in, healthily insane. Many thanks.

    Greetings from London.

  33. Wow. I wish I had thought of the name "Friends and Lovers" back when I actually had a band (a singing group, actually).

I'm not so sure about "Try reality. No, thanks." as a song title, but hey, it has possibilities.

My album cover shows a man pushing a stroller and walking a toddler out of a tunnel and into the sunshine. It's a lovely shot.

    That was fun.

  34. Thanks for sharing this cool idea! I tried it with good results (but I'm not holding out for a Grammy).

  35. Wow, your album is surprisingly believable.
