I'm sick. The aches, the stuffy head. I think it's a good evening for
You've Got Mail. Don't you love that part where she's sick and Tom
Hanks brings her daisies, her favorite flower? I cry in the same two
scenes of this movie every single time I watch it. So, it's hot tea with
honey and my woolly socks tonight. I am a lone reed...and I think
I need some daisies.

  4. Oh I hope you feel better soon. Did you catch Lavinia's malaise?

You have certainly picked the perfect feel good movie to snuggle up and watch. I love the part in the end when she realizes that her secret love has been the Tom Hanks character all along.

And while we are on the subject of Meg Ryan...what has she done to her cute little face? Waaaaaa...didn't she know she was perfect just the way she was?

  8. Love that movie too!

You should drink ginger and lemon tea with your cold. Twinings puts out a nice blend. Ginger to boost your immune system. Works. And get lots of sleep.

  13. Hot ginger ale with whiskey in it - or is it hot whiskey with ginger ale in it.... One or the other. It's the thing. Have that before the ginger tea and lemon. You'll be asleep before the tea is cool enough to sip.
When Meg cries I cry - especially in When Harry Met Sally, and You've Got Mail .
    Feel better soon!

  14. Oh, man--hope you feel better soon! I think as weather starts to change, lots of people do get sick--cuddle up with good things and sleep. My answer to any illness--sleep is so recuperative. You've Got Mail is a sweet movie; good to watch at times like these! Get well soon!

  16. Here is a box of soft pale pink Kleenex for you, dear Willow, and a cup of rooibos tea (SA herbal tea), black with lemon and honey. I have just brewed it. Take mega doses of Vitamin C preferably with zinc, echinea and cat's claw added. Tuck a mohair blanket over your feet and watch that movie. You could also try 'When Harry met Sally' - a great standby for when you have the sneezes. Get better soon! Lots of good wishes Eleanor

  25. Ha, I found a tiny opportunity to blog and hastened to catch up on your wonderful posts only to find you lazily languishing lost in lowland. Wish I could pamper you with cool lavenderwater compresses on your brow and hot, hot toddies of, and please follow this recepy,
of very strong, boiling hot tea (to settle the stomach), large shot
of rum (to kill the bugs),juice of 1 lemon (to restore the vitamin C the rum has just demolished), and a large spoon full of natural honey
just to make it taste good and ease the throat. Take two aspirins and the brew and sweat it out! I do hope you shed the dreaded lurgy a.s.a.p.
I stroke your fevered brow with love....

  28. What might make you feel even better is to watch The Shop Around the Corner, from which You've Got Mail gets its story.

I'm sorry I am late to wish you well...perhaps by now you are recovered and don't need any movie suggestions! Feel better!
