Thanks for sharing....yes May has finally arrived! You've encouraged me to go out and pick some lilacs from a bush in my north yard. :)

  4. Lovely pic!! I can almost imagine their fragrance--What a good way to celebrate May Day.

Man, you're prolific. I was only here a while ago and now another post!

I'd too pluck some lilac but ours don't bloom until August ..about the only thing that does then, actually!

  5. Well...I wouldn't say I was prolific...just brought these inside and thought how appropriate they would be to share for May Day! :)

  6. These are so lovely! Your photography is really amazing. I brought some lilacs in last week and the house smelled so heavenly. You've inspired me to cut some more for the weekend.

  7. Mmmmmmmm... I love to bury my nose in a soft, fragrant bouquet of lilacs. And the colour... my favourite. Our lilacs are not ready yet, but we are that further north of you I suppose. :)

    Beautiful job, Ace Girl Photographer!

  8. So pretty. I believe we are too far South for lilacs to grow here. They are beautiful. Wish there were some in my yard. That would be lovely.

  9. Gorgeous, I have a huge lilac bush in the garden but I am allergic to the smell. So I can only admire from the house :-)

  10. i've never understood that poem about "April is the cruellest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land" ...what could be cruel about lilacs????

  11. Absolutely gorgeous...My grandmother, whom I adored always talked of her lilacs when she lived in Kentucky. I've never lived where I could grow them...Just beautiful Willow...
I don't know how I missed these yesterday...I love your new picture..your such a beautiful lady of Willow Manor :)

  12. Tumbleweed, that Eliot line is very intriguing, isn't it? Maybe cruel in the sense that April is forcing the lilacs to bloom? I need to go back and read that poem again...
