Random Album
While I'm working on the Purgapalooza, here's a bit of fun. This little
meme is from Coffee Messiah. It's random, fun, easy and entertaining.
(Hey, I am SO easily entertained.)
1. BAND NAME: Go to "wikipedia." Hit "random article" or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2. ALBUM TITLE: Go to "Random quotations"or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the
title of your first album.
3. COVER ART: Go to flickr and click on "explore the last seven
days"or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
So, there you have it, my bloggy friends. Go ahead! Give it a whirl
and see what you come up with. It's fun!
Wiki + Quotations + Flickr = Album
i love triplets of belleville. it's a fantastic film (i used to be a competitive cyclist, so parts of it make me laugh more).
ReplyDeleteNice one and Thanks for popping in. Cheers! ; )
ReplyDeleteLove your new album! It has an Amy Winehouse feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit Willow.....and anyone who rhymes Postlethwaite commands my immediate respect...smiling. Have a grand evening.
ReplyDeleteMy band is called The Prosorba Column.
ReplyDeleteThe album's called "Literature is News..."
Overlaid ontop of a picture of an Australian Cattle dog puppy.
Great idea, i love this and will add that as my next post since i am out of inspiration at present. So,did you go into photoshop to add the words?
ReplyDeleteMy band: Auchinraith
ReplyDeleteFirst Album: "Move Forward with Your Life"
album cover "Reading Light"
loved this, it was fun!
I read the directions to this meme on another blog and was thoroughly confused. This actually makes sense to my wee brain!
ReplyDeleteCool album cover!
This is a fun meme. I love the way it magically captures everyone who tries it. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was just my hair that always looks good when I'm just going to be sitting around the house!
I saw Scarlet O'Hara mentioned on a number of blogs during the last couple of days. Interesting, yes? Or should I say, oui>??
wow it's so cool that one,you would think it would be real.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat album. My band was named "cura te ipsu."
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Looks like great fun, but i am so bad at the techie stuff that I'll just enjoy yours...loved the Millay poem also; let's hope "spring is kind."
ReplyDeleteI just love reading the word
ReplyDeletepurgapalooza
Oh, my son did this--I think you could come up with some fabulous album names this way! Great! I agree--it's always so good to clean our closets and drawers. Very liberating. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks to you I'm now the percussionist in a French light jazz band, Gallières. Watch iTunes for our first album "You to Do Your Best". Think Gitanes and a poodle on my lap in a cafe.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's fun. =]
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! I may give it a try.
ReplyDeleteFun!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to give this a whirl! Sounds like it might be rather entertaining! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis was a lot of fun; especially since I am now the founding member of Atlantic City Hi-Rollers. Our debut album is entitled "People Who Work Standing Up." This is what our album cover will look like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ornellas/3309037596/
ReplyDeleteThis was fun and I will definitely be sharing.
The Fransisco Xeres Band and their first release "When They Never Give Up".
ReplyDeleteThis was fun and love your album cover.
ReplyDeleteI'm tinkling the ivories in the band "Tauere" and the album title, appropriately, is "It's already tomorrow in Australia". The cover art was a little piece of decoupage.
This is a fun meme and I'm going to do it. Love your album cover!
ReplyDeleteI just love your Manor events!
ReplyDeleteCatherine
very good blog, congratulations
ReplyDeleteregard from Reus Catalonia
thank you
Hello Willow,
ReplyDeleteI read about this meme on 'A Woman of No Importance's blog and thought it was good fun. Since I did one of Fhina's other memes yesterday, I haven't got round to this yet. But I will!
Thanks for your kind words you left to my needs!
I love your album cover, Willow! what fun.. just the sort of thing I need to do for a blogpost today.. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that is fun! I love yours.
ReplyDeletePlease don't make me re-live the 70's and 80's...my hair won't take it...ha!
ReplyDeleteTHis was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteMy album cover came out as a macro photo of 2 dark chocolate bonbons (my favorite!!!).
The title "I Think She Enjoyed It" (how apropos!).
And the band name...now that was a mouthfull
"Hamdollah Mostowfi".
good one....definitely one of more entertaining meme
ReplyDeleteGroovy, man! I will be headlining for Grimwood’s Longclaw
ReplyDeletedebuting with "Stage of Opportunity and Strength" and, trust me, you don't want to see the Cover Art. Depending if I choose the third picture across or the third picture down, will make or break my stardom.
The third picture "across" is a rather disturbing Mephistophelean image of a young, handsome man, zombie-like eyes, naked torso, and he is holding his right hand up. The tips of his fingers are charred black and spirals of smoke are swirling from them.
The third picture "down" is a serene photo of a beach with a slightly tilted wooden fence in the foreground.
CD sales will probably be stronger with Satan's spawn! :-)
A proper designer couldn't have come up with a more appealing cover! My husband is reading a book on randomness . . . I must graze through it and get back to you. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely image. Yours is the second blog this evening where I've found the qalbum cover meme.
ReplyDeleteI bet your hair looks lovely
That's insane, as in, healthily insane. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Wow. I wish I had thought of the name "Friends and Lovers" back when I actually had a band (a singing group, actually).
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about "Try reality. No, thanks." as a song title, but hey, it has possibilities.
My album cover shows a man pushing a stroller and walking a toddler out of a tunnel and into the sunshine. It's a lovely shot.
That was fun.
Thanks for sharing this cool idea! I tried it with good results (but I'm not holding out for a Grammy).
ReplyDeleteWow, your album is surprisingly believable.
