Thanks for all your input yesterday in helping me decide on Sir
Anthony Hopkins, "Tony" to me.
Adrianne's comment, describing
his "Remains of the Day look", persuaded me! But this means that
I will have to wear flats, since he is only 5' 9 1/2" tall. If I wear
three inch heels, I will tower over him. So flats it is. Much easier to
dance in flats, anyway, don't you think? I'm working with the
caterer today and hiring some guys to do the valet parking. So
things are quite a flutter around the Manor today! Polish up those
dancing shoes!

This wonderful montage should help
Maurita make her choice.

  1. I've decided to come with Viggo Mortensen. He's quite the Renaissance Man (plays piano, writes poetry, etc., etc.) and I'm certain he will be splendid at ballroom dancing and be able to keep me from taking the lead (as I'm wont to do).

I just can't decide whether or not I want him to dress as King Aragorn or put on a tux!

(P.S. don't tell my husband. He just had his 46th birthday and is feeling a bit old(er))

  4. I am sure you and Tony will have a lot to chat about and nothing wrong with being able to look him in the eye...

I would never have imagined you were tall .. not that you seem small but at 5 ft 10 in I tend to think the whole world is shorter ....

  6. Tony...good choice!

I'm all about flats....I figure with a ball gown, no one will be the wiser, and my feet will be happier.

Have the dress, need a date....

Ooh..Viggo will be there, too? I guess I'd better get in line for a turn on the floor with him as well.

  11. Hi, no idea how I ended up here but I love what I see and read (the general "ambiance") - I'll be back asap..:)

  12. Rebecca, we can do a little switcheroo for a bit. I always liked Gary Oldman. I want to ask if he still has his sweet little Italian Greyhound.

  13. Well, since Kat is pairing with Viggo, which would have been my first choice...that leaves John Cusack, Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp or maybe even Leonardo DiCaprio. Decisions, decisions...

  14. Well sandra ree, how odd, we obviously have the same taste. I had considered Antonio Banderas but Johnny phoned just now and I couldn't resist. Sorry. We could always swap for the odd dance?

  15. I think flats will be fine! Some beautiful sparkly ballet slippers and you will be able to dance all night! :)

  16. That montage is fabulous. I had chosen Clark Gable, but now I can see why you would want Cary. He was soooo handsome. I can't wait for the big dance. How exciting!!

  17. Sorry ladies, Antonio has already agreed to attend the dance with me. He's been giving me tango lessons for days. But no one has mentioned Mr Darcy yet. He says he doesn't dance much but he's just shy.

  18. I know for a fact that Mr. Darcy will be here! Yes, you are right, he was too shy to phone and sent me a note. I'm not sure who he is coming with and he probably won't want to dance much. ;)

  19. Although Michael Bryshnikof dances like a dream, I think I'll come with Omar Sharif, pretty good in a ballroom, taller and oh those bedroom eyes!
Could you invite Antonio Banderas is case someone lacks a partner, I'like to tango with him too please.

  20. Ooo-la-la...Omar Sharif!! Yes, those eyes. He could put you in a trace while dancing with him!

  21. My heart is all a flutter. Richard Gere is mine for the evening.....and I mean mine. Hands off everybody.

  22. Have a blast! I'll think of you as I'm dancing down the streets in San Fran...

  23. Willow,
Anthony's "Shadowlands" loving glances are not bad either. ;-)

  24. Okay...Cary it is. I was leaning toward his gentleness anyway. Thanks for the lovely clip, Willow!

  25. Love Ray Bolger, I am so excited!

Ralph Fiennes called, said he had heard through a mutual friend that there was a ball being held at the Willow Manor. I could not deny him... he will be my escort.

  26. Ralph Fiennes?! You lucky girl!! He danced so well in the movie "Onegin"! I will be so excited to meet him in person and possibly take a whirl around the dance floor with him, too...that is if it's okay with you! ;^)
